We offer the largest Indoor / Outdoor Kennels and Boarding facilities in Colorado Springs.
GROOMING
Sunrise & Woodmen Kennels have a full-service professional all-breed dog and cat grooming facility.
Training

​The training is all done at Under the Sun Doggie Day Care (which is right next door; click on the logo to go to their website).

Our training team has created a dynamic training program that is fun for dogs and the whole family! ​By understanding canine behavior, dog psychology, and associated principles, Under the Sun, trainers have the ability to identify the proper method in order to effectively train any and all dogs. This approach ensures the desired training results and satisfaction of both you and your dog.
ABOUT
US
Doug and Michaelanne Johnson purchased Sunrise Kennels in 1977. Thirteen years later, in 1990, they purchased Woodmen Kennels, which is located right next door to Sunrise.

Sunrise and Woodmen Kennels are a family owned and operated organization. Doug and Michaelanne have raised five children in the business and all are actively involved today! The children, Candaceanne, Courtneyanne, Carrieanne, Corrissaanne, and Colton are working as pet groomers, office, and dog trainers and handlers.
​
Today the Johnson's enjoy caring for the pets of the second generation customer's children.
​
The Johnson’s have received many awards throughout their careers, but none as prestigious as the 2006 AKC Breeder of the Year and the 2006 Hearding Dog of the Year award with their son Colton and Old English Sheepdog “Smokin.” In 2016 they received the AKC Breader of the Year, again!

With the wide variety of services we offer to our customers and with our award winning trainers, there is something for every pet at Sunrise and Woodmen Kennels!
